Hello, Battlefield!
Central Assembly is excited to be extending our ministry to Battlefield, Missouri. We’ll be located at 5154 West Bypass where we’re currently updating and extending our space. We’ll have newly refreshed kids ministry areas, extended parking, and a completely remodeled and expanded sanctuary that will seat approximately 350. Read on to learn a little about our leadership and what we value in ministry, or visit our YouTube page to see what our services are like. We can't wait to serve this community as we connect people with God, with others, and with their purpose in life!
Meet Dr. Jim Bradford
Dr. James Bradford teaches most Sundays at Central, although you’ll generally hear him referred to simply as Pastor Jim. You’ll find Pastor Jim to be a very relational communicator known for his humble and compassionate delivery of scripture and application. Armed with a bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics, a master’s degree and Phd in Aerospace Engineering, Jim bypassed a career at NASA in favor of the opportunity to pursue God’s call on his life into vocational ministry. He is a highly sought after teacher who is called on to speak around the world. But home for him is the pulpit at Central Assembly. Every week, we are lovingly challenged by Pastor Jim to pursue Jesus and open ourselves up to the heart-shaping work of the Holy Spirit.
Meet Pastor Anthony Matrone
Pastor Anthony Matrone is Central’s Adult Ministries Pastor, and will also be serving as the Central Assembly Battlefield campus pastor. Central’s mission to connect people to God, to others, and to purpose has been the core of Anthony’s ministry. Over the years, he has been key to the ongoing development of discipleship groups at Central, and he also led the development of an innovative StrengthFinders-based Serve Class designed to help people identify and customize ways in which they can serve others. Under his leadership, Central is already developing a large group of members ready to come be a part of our Central Assembly Battlefield church family. Anthony and his wife, Cynthia, have three children: Annabelle, Alex, and August.
Central worship
Worship has been central to the identity of Central Assembly for more than a century. While styles and methods have evolved, our mission remains unchanged: to adore a sovereign God worthy of sacrificial worship, celebrate the grace of Christ, and welcome the transforming presence of the Holy Spirit. At Central, worship is participational. Our desire is to unite platform and congregation, inviting every person to engage fully in praise. We value worship that engages both heart and mind, balancing songs of celebration, prayer, lament, and rich theology that proclaim God's character and truth. Above all, we cherish worship across generations, believing that when young and old worship together, the church bears witness to God's faithfulness from generation to generation.
Central Kids
Our team from Central Kids, Central Preschool, and Central Nursery are ready to make your child’s time at Central safe, meaningful, and fun. The goal is to mix a good time with the good news of Jesus Christ, and make church a place your little one enjoys attending. We’ll be sharing more about Central Kids activities and what you can expect at Central Assembly Battlefield as we approach our launch date later in 2026!
