Easter at Central | Celebrating Our Risen Lord

March is a glorious month at Central Assembly! We hope you will join us for all our Easter events. Here’s a brief summary of what’s coming up:

  • March 20 is Palm Sunday, the start of Passion Week, and the day we celebrate Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, one week before His resurrection. Pastor Jeff will continue the Celebrate God sermon series. We’ll share Communion together.
  • March 23 Brent and Bonnie Johnson from Jacob’s Hope will host A Seder Experience in the Multipurpose Hall at 6:30. You must have a ticket to attend. Free tickets will be available at the Connect Counter through March 20.
  • March 25 join us for our Service of Shadows on Good Friday evening at 7:00. This service is a reflection on Jesus’ suffering and death, ending with anticipation of Easter morning and His ultimate victory.
  • March 27 is Easter Sunday! Jesus is risen! He is risen indeed! The sanctuary choir and orchestra will present special music, and Pastor Jeff will offer a message of hope. Both morning services will meet. Evening services and activities will not meet.

A Seder Experience | March 23 | 6:30p | Multipurpose Hall

Brent and Bonnie Johnson from Jacob’s Hope will host A Seder Experience on Wednesday, March 23. The Passover Seder involves the retelling of the Exodus and God’s divine intervention on behalf of His people. This unique service will be a wonderful time with the church family. The Johnsons will explain the Seder meal, and each table will have a Passover Seder plate in the center. A full meal will not be served, but we’ll get to sample a few of the traditional, symbolic foods. Everyone who attends must have a ticket. Tickets are free and available at the Connect Counter through March 20.

Service of Shadows | March 25 | 7:00p | Sanctuary

Our Service of Shadows is a solemn time where we’ll think about Jesus’ suffering and death. Music and readings will trace His passion and pathos. What does that mean? It means Jesus revealed His no-boundaries love for us in the suffering and sacrifice He willingly went through on our behalf. Invite a friend and make plans to join us on Good Friday evening at 7:00. We’ll examine the price Jesus paid to redeem us and give us hope—no matter what we’ve done. We hope to see you there.
