Our annual Women@Central Holiday Lunch & Expo will be Saturday, November 1. Our theme this year is “Live, Love, Share—A Beautiful Life.” The event will feature a shopping expo, an amazing panel of guest speakers, workshops on trending topics, a catered lunch from Maggie Mae’s, and an outreach opportunity to bless Weaver Elementary Store by donating new socks and underwear. Come early for shopping and workshops at 8:30am, then join us for lunch at 11:30am. Tickets are $14 and will be available at a designated table in the foyer from Sunday, September 28 through Sunday, October 26. If you would like to be a table host, your ticket price is $12. Calling all chili chefs! It’s almost time for our 2nd Annual Chili Bowl! This all-church event will be Wednesday, October 29 in the Multipurpose Hall. The evening will be filled with delicious chili sampling, games for the kids, and a throwdown for the best chili at Central Assembly. This is a perfect event to enter as a small group or Sunday School class. Or you can enter on your own or with a group of friends. The friendly rivalry will be bowls of fun and a night of incredible community. So roll up your sleeves, fire up that slow cooker, and get your recipe ready to claim the honor of Central Assembly top chili! We have a few international students who are on a waiting list for host families. What does a host family do? Host families offer students occasional gatherings on holidays, family dinners, birthdays, etc. If you are willing to “adopt” an international student, please contact us.
On Saturday, October 11, we will serve our neighbors through our Food Pantry and Oil Change Ministry. We need new volunteers for both of these ministries. We offer basic conversational English classes free to all internationals. We now meet on Tuesdays in the Boonville side of the lower foyer from 6:00-8:00pm. We meet in the same location each Wednesday from 6:30-8:00pm. Invite your international friends!
