2014 Chili Bowl | October 29 | 6:30pm | MPH

Calling all chili chefs! It’s almost time for our 2nd Annual Chili Bowl! This all-church event will be Wednesday, October 29 in the Multipurpose Hall. The evening will be filled with delicious chili sampling, games for the kids, and a throwdown for the best chili at Central Assembly. This is a perfect event to enter as a small group or Sunday School class. Or you can enter on your own or with a group of friends. The friendly rivalry will be bowls of fun and a night of incredible community. So roll up your sleeves, fire up that slow cooker, and get your recipe ready to claim the honor of Central Assembly top chili!  If you would like to compete in the chili cook-off, please e-mail neighbors@centralassembly.org or call 866-5013 for a registration form and copy of the competition rules. The deadline for entries is Sunday, October 19.


Wednesday Night Bible Study | 6:30pm | MPH

We kicked off a new small group Bible study last Wednesday, September 11. The focus is exploration of life-giving relationships and unique groups found in the Bible. It’s not too late to start your own group! This coming Wednesday night invite a few friends, grab a table, and start a small group. It’s all about relationships based on the Bible and prayer.


A Call to Manhood  | Sundays 6pm & Wednesdays 6:30pm

Response was so outstanding for our new 10-week Wednesday night study, “Stepping Up: A Call to Manhood,” that we are offering the same study on Sunday nights at 6:00 in Room 202. Join us and come away with an action plan that fits the man God made you to be!


Graded and Bell Choirs Resume  | September 14

It’s time for graded choirs and bell choirs to resume. Skip on over to your regular room at your regular time on Sunday, September 14! Please note that the Cherub Choir now meets in the Brown Room. If you have questions, please contact Elizabeth.


Legacy Breakfast | September 18 | 8:30am | MPH

Senior adults are welcome to join us for our September breakfast. Tickets are $6 in advance at the Connect Counter and $6.50 at the door the day of the breakfast. If you celebrate a birthday in September, your breakfast is free.


Men’s Breakfast Fellowship | September 20 | 8am | Perkins Restaurant

This group of men meets for encouragement, fellowship, and prayer the third Saturday of each month. All men are welcome! For more information, please contact Vic.


Water Baptism Class | September 28 | 5pm | Choir Room

If you would like to be baptized in water, please make plans to attend our required water baptism class. Adults will meet at 5:00pm; kids will meet at 5:30pm. If you have questions or would like to sign up for the class, please e-mail us.


Men’s Retreat | September 26-28 | Cross Pointe Camp & Retreat Center

The Southern Missouri District Men’s Retreat will be September 26-28. Find more information here. The featured speaker will be Neil Kennedy, founder and president of FivestarMan. A church van is available. To reserve your seat, please contact Sandra.


Women’s Holiday Lunch & Expo | November 1 | MPH

Our annual Women’s Holiday Lunch & Expo will be Saturday, November 1. Our theme this year is “Live, Love, Share—A Beautiful Life.” We’ll have a foyer full of vendors for shopping, workshops by talented women sharing their ideas, and a delicious lunch catered by a local restaurant. More details are coming soon. In the meantime, Save the Date!


Free ESL Classes | Tuesdays & Wednesdays | Lower Foyer

We offer basic conversational English classes free to all internationals. We now meet on Tuesdays in the Boonville side of the lower foyer from 6:00-8:00pm.  We meet in the same location each Wednesday from 6:30-8:00pm. Invite your international friends!


Women’s Prayer & Share | Thursdays | 9:30am | Chapel Lobby

This group is for women of all ages. Join us for a time of book study, sharing, fellowship, and prayer for each other. Meeting dates follow the Springfield school calendar. For more information, please contact Becky.
