We are so excited to welcome our new Worship Arts Pastor Chad Rose, his wife Cynthia, and their baby Henry this Sunday morning! We’ll also launch our Summer Missions Project. Project Rescue is an incredible organization that provides places of physical, emotional, and spiritual restoration for women and children exploited through sexual slavery and trafficking. At 6:00p Pastor Mike will continue our series, Book of Mark. Remember that we’re on our summer schedule, and only the 10:30a Sunday morning worship service will meet throughout the summer. All Sunday School classes will meet at 9:00. You can find all the details here.
During the summer months, internationals will join the main sanctuary service. Sunday, June 12, we’ll meet in the Fusion Center from 12:00-2:00p for Host Family Worship. Pastor David Jayne will speak, and we’ll enjoy a potluck lunch. All students and host families are encouraged to attend! We’ll also celebrate Father’s Day and June birthdays. If you would like to learn more about our international ministries, e-mail us.
Our amazing summer of Wednesday Night Bible Studies is underway. This Wednesday night Dr. Grant Jones will conclude his teaching on the vital subject of how to deal with shame. On June 22 and 29, Dr. Johan Mostert will teach on whole life discipleship. In July Dr. Jon Spence will speak on how to identify and use the strengths God has given us. Then in August Marc Turnage will present a 4-week Holy Land series called Windows Into the Bible. Don’t miss this summer’s powerful Wednesday nights!
Our free Summer ESL Class will meet through July 13. This is a great opportunity to practice conversational English. Invite your international friends to join us Wednesdays at 6:30p in Room 123. Questions? Contact us.
The Fusion staff and many of our students will be away for CityCamp and SOMO Camp this month. Therefore, Fusion service/activities will not meet two Sunday nights, June 12 and 19, and Wednesday night, June 15. Please pray that our students will encounter God.
On Saturday, June 25, Central Assembly will partner with James River Church and bless Central High School through Project Partnership. We’ll do both interior and exterior work— painting, cleaning, organizing, and more. Start time is 8:00a, and we need lots of volunteers to help represent Central Assembly. Get more information and register here.
Everyone is invited to join us for our 2016 Camp Meeting, sponsored by Legacy Senior Adult Ministries. It will be a wonderful time of teaching, preaching, worship, singing, food and fellowship. Featured guests will be Paul & Ann Martin (speakers), Janet Paschal (vocalist), and Kay Paschal Loftis (worship leader). Pastors Jeff Peterson and Don Tucker are also on the program. Registration is free and meals are included; however, you must have a registration voucher. You may pick one up at the Legacy Counter through July 6.
MEGA Sports Camp will be July 25-29 from 8:00-11:30a each day. This is a great summer camp for K-5th grade kids and an excellent opportunity for them to invite their friends. Details and registration forms are available at the kids’ registration desk. Forms, plus a $15 fee, are due by July 10. Join us for a MEGA good time!
To make MEGA Sports Camp a MEGA success, we need lots of volunteers! If you are willing to coach or be a helper, we need volunteers in the following areas: baseball, basketball, flag football, soccer, cooking, chess, and Pre-K. If you’d like to sign up or ask a question, please contact us.
