Last Sunday Pastor Jeff finished up our Celebrate God series. On May 1 we’ll begin a brand-new Sunday morning series on Philippians. Paul’s letter to the Philippians is one of his classic windows into how to maintain a good attitude when faced with difficult circumstances. It will no doubt speak to our hearts today. We’ll also welcome Chad and Cynthia Rose who will lead us in our worship through music. Sunday night Pastor Mike will continue our study of Mark with chapter 11. Join us for a great day of worship at Central!
Our annual Camp Scholarship offering will be Sunday, May 1. The kids will attend district camp, and the youth have two options: district camp and a combination camp/missions trip to Colorado. It’s as important as ever to help our kids and youth experience God in a camp setting. It may very well have a lasting impact on the rest of their lives.
Pastor Daisuke will speak from Psalm 41 about “Patient Prayer in Difficult Times.” On Sunday, May 8, Deborah Tucker will be our guest speaker for Mother’s Day. She’ll share experiences in parenting she and Pastor Don had when they served as missionaries in Africa. If you would like to learn more about our international ministries, e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This week Pastor Don will lead our Bible study series, Book of James, with “Submitting to God.” Join us every Wednesday for insightful Bible teaching, engaging discussion, great fellowship, and good coffee!
Our Royal Ranger Council of Achievement awards will be Wednesday, May 4, in the upper foyer. This ceremony will honor the hard work our boys have put into progressing through the Royal Ranger program. Parents, bring your Rangers and stay for the ceremony to support all the boys.
Our May Legacy Breakfast will be Thursday, May 5. Gospel singer Lillie Knauls will be our special guest at the breakfast and at our After Breakfast Linger Longer. Tickets are available at the Legacy Counter for $6; $6.50 at the door. If you celebrate a birthday in May, your breakfast is free (but you must have a ticket)!
KIDZMO Kids’ Camp will be July 11-15. The cost is $155 and forms are available at the kids’ registration desk. Registrations are due by Sunday, June 5. Kids ages 8-12 are invited to join us for a week of summer fun! If you have questions, e-mail email@example.com.
Convoy of Hope will host a community event for Springfield on Saturday, May 7. Doors will open at 10:00am. At the event Convoy will serve thousands by providing free groceries, health and dental screenings, haircuts, family portraits, meals, and much more. Lots of volunteers are needed, and we’d like to have as many from Central Assembly as possible. If you would like to be a part of this amazing day, please register at convoyofhope.org/springfield.
Ladies, are you ready to party? Women’s Ministries and Girls’ Ministries will present Embrace Your Calling: Girls’ Night Out on Friday, May 13, from 6:00-9:00pm. This will be a casual come-and-go evening with dinner and activities, such as a finger food dinner, make your own salt scrub, games for the kids, and more. The program begins at a 6:45. All generations of women will gather for a time of fellowship, inspiration, and sharing the vision of what we, as women of God, can do. Tickets are on sale in the foyer for $7. When you come to our foyer table, check out the Embrace t-shirts!
On Saturday, May 14, both our Food Pantry and Oil Change Ministry will be in action. We need volunteers for both of these ministries, especially men to help with oil changes. If you can spare 2 hours one Saturday morning a month, you can make a real difference. Questions? Contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Membership Class is for everyone who wants to explore church membership or learn more about Central’s history, organization, vision, and values. Please register by signing up on the bulletin or e-mailing email@example.com.
