Happy New Year! We return to our regular service schedule this Sunday, January 3. Join us at 9:00 or 10:30a for morning worship. Then Sunday evening join us for Come & Go Family Communion any time between 6:00 and 7:30p. The pastoral staff will be available to serve you communion and pray with you for any needs you wish to share. There’s no better way to enter the new year than over the Lord’s Supper. We look forward to seeing what God has in store for us in 2016!

International News

The international service will resume this Sunday with Pastor Daisuke speaking from Genesis 26:12-25. Join us at 10:30a in the Fusion Center. International women are invited to join us as we study Kerry Clarensau’s Redeemed beginning in January. We will have six sessions and meet every other week. The Chinese ladies’ life group will start Sunday, January 3 at 6:00p in Room 202. The Japanese group begins Wednesday, January 6 in Room 204. Other groups will begin in coming weeks. Contact Pastor Yoriko for starting dates and locations.

Stephen Ministry Meeting | January 3 | 6:00p | Chapel

A new Stephen Ministry training class will be held January 3 at 6:00p in the chapel. Stephen Ministers work alongside our pastors to serve those who are going through a difficult time, such as divorce, grief, hospitalization, unemployment, terminal or chronic illness, relocation, or loneliness. If you are interested in exploring this ministry, please sign up below. If you are unable to attend, please contact Pastor David. He’ll be happy to tell you all about it.

Wednesday Night Bible Study | January 6 | 6:30p | MPH

Our Wednesday Night Bible Study resumes January 6 with Ben Stein’s “Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed,” a documentary that supports intelligent design. On the following three Wednesday evenings, our own Rich Hammar will expand on the topics through his studies of astronomy. Come early for coffee and fellowship!

Offering Envelopes | For your convenience

Your 2016 pre-numbered and dated offering envelopes will be available in the foyer through Sunday, January 10. Using these envelopes will help ensure you receive proper giving credit. Thank you for your faithfulness in giving to Central Assembly!

Legacy Breakfast | January 7 | 8:30a | MPH

Plan now to join us for our FIRST Legacy breakfast of 2016 on Thursday, January 7 at 8:30a in the Multipurpose Hall! Tickets are $6 and are available at the Legacy Counter. We will celebrate both December and January birthdays. If you celebrate a birthday during either of these months, you will be our guest!

Neighbors Day | January 9 | 9:00a | Central Assembly

On Saturday, January 9, both our Food Pantry and Oil Change Ministry will be in action. If you’d like to make a real difference in lives by giving 2 hours of your time one Saturday morning a month, please join us. Neighbors Kids also needs volunteers. This ministry is for kids who come with their parents on Neighbors Day. We meet in KidZone and have crafts, games, and worship time. If you would like to volunteer for any of these ministries or have questions, contact us.

6th Grade Discipleship Class | January 10 | 9:00a | Fusion Auditorium

J12 is a Sunday morning discipleship class for 6th grade students. The focus is on the 16 Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God, Scripture memorization, and learning what we believe and why we believe it. Orientation will be Sunday, January 10, at 9:00a in the Fusion Auditorium. Classes begin January 17. Contact us if you have questions.

Coming this month…

Sunday, January 10, join us for a Night of Prayer at 6:00p in the sanctuary. We will pray for our church ministries and our community. Sunday, January 17, is Sanctity of Life Sunday. Cindi Boston, director of Pregnancy Care Center in Springfield, Missouri, will be our morning guest speaker. January 17 is also Connect Sunday. No matter your age or stage of life, Central has a group for you. Engage yourself and get connected! Sunday evening at 6:00 the movie “War Room” will be shown. Join us for this movie night!

Serving the Blind | Help for those affected with low vision

Low vision affects more people than you might expect. In Springfield, Missouri alone, there are roughly 3,500 people with low vision. If you or someone you know needs a blind-accessible Bible, transportation for errands, reading of mail, etc., we want to serve.
