New Wednesday Night Bible Study | September 9 | 6:30pm | Multipurpose Hall

We believe the Scriptures are inspired by God and declare His design and plan for all of mankind. What is the best way to study the Bible? Why should we study God’s Word? Which is the best version? How do I apply the Bible to everyday life? This Wednesday night we’ll kick off a new series, People of the Book. The series will run from September 9 through November 18 and will cover the following topics:

  • Introduction: Why Study the Bible?
  • Interpreting the Bible
  • Thinking Contextually
  • Inductive Bible Study Method
  • All Those Different Versions!
  • Study Bibles, Commentaries & Other Study Aids
  • Bible Study & the Ancient Context
  • Applying the Word

Speakers throughout the series will be Pastor Jeff Peterson, Dr. Don Johns, Dr. Vince Medina, and Dr. Fred Haltom. Let’s join together in studying the best-selling Book of all time!

International News | September 6 | 10:30a | Fusion Center

Pastor Yoriko will speak on “God Is on Our Side” from 1 Kings 19:1-19. Thank you to those who have signed up to be host families for international students. We need seven more families! A Host Family Program orientation will follow the service at 12:15pm in the Fusion Center. If you are an international student who wants an American host family or an American family who would like to host an international student, please join us!

Labor Day Weekend | September 5-7

We will not have evening services or activities on Sunday, September 6. Also, the church office will be closed on Monday, September 7 in observance of Labor Day.

Parent Meeting | September 9 | 6:00p | Chapel

A parent meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 9 at 6pm in the chapel. The purpose of the meeting is to help parents get a handle on what’s happening in our world regarding pornography and how we can protect our children and families.

Women’s Prayer & Share | September 10 | 9:30a | Chapel Foyer

Neighbors Day | September 12 | 9:00a | Central Assembly

Saturday, September 12, we will serve our neighbors through our Food Pantry and Oil Change Ministry. The Oil Change Ministry will begin at 9am; Food Pantry will begin at 9:30am. Water Baptism Class | September 13 | 5:00p | Choir Room

Fall Bible Studies Begin Soon

Three new studies are starting soon: Conqueror Series: The Battle Plan for Purity. This cinematic 5-week study for men by Dr. Ted Roberts, a former Marine fighter pilot, will begin Sunday, September 13, at 6:00pm in Room 223. A companion workbook is $10. Hosea: Unfailing Love Changes Everything. This 7-week study for women by Jennifer Rothschild will begin Tuesday, September 15, at 6:45pm in Room 222. A companion workbook is $13. Free To Grow: Overcoming Setbacks & Disappointments. This 12-week journey by Dr. Jimmy Ray Lee will begin Sunday, September 13, in Room 122. Leaving hindrances and rejection behind, we can discover complete freedom to grow in Christ. A companion workbook is $11. MOPPETS Teachers & Assistants | 1st & 3rd Tuesdays beginning September 15

MOPS is looking for teachers and assistants to work with kids ages infant to preschool during meetings. Paid positions are available. Background check and application are required. If interested, please e-mail us.

Central Men’s Golf Classic | September 26 | 8:30a | Payne Stewart Golf Course

District Men’s Retreat | September 25-27 | Cross Pointe Retreat Center

Calling all men! The Southern Missouri District Men’s Retreat is coming up in September. The speaker will be George Sawyer, founding pastor of Calvary Assembly of God, Decatur, Illinois. Royal Ranger Mentors | Wednesdays | 6:30p | K-5th grades

Weaver School Store Volunteers
