MOPS believes that mothering matters and that better moms make a better world. Central Assembly has four different MOPS groups. All four will kick off a new MOPS year in September. Here’s a little information on each one.

August 23 is Welcome Sunday! Come and meet new international and American friends. Pastor Yoriko will speak on “Moving Forward.” Enjoy fellowship, refreshments, and coffee. A Host Family Program meeting will follow the service. International students, please attend the meeting if you want an American host family.
We will not have Sunday evening services or activities during the month of August. This is to give the faithful volunteers in our various church ministries a time of rest before the busy fall season is upon us. Also, we will not have evening services or activities on Sunday, September 6, in observance of Labor Day.
This week Pastor Jeff will continue our Holy Spirit series with “The Fruit of the Spirit: Gentleness.” Throughout this series we are learning about different facets of the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives. Join us every Wednesday for fellowship, Bible teaching, and discussion.
The annual Dads & Lads campout is coming up next week! There will be fun for all ages. Junior High and older boys will enjoy high ropes, climbing towers, and zip lines. For more information, visit the table in the foyer or the Ranger classrooms on Wednesday night.
Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation who receive special training to provide one-to-one care to those who are experiencing life challenges, such as grief, loneliness, divorce, hospitalization, disability, job loss, etc. To learn more about the ministry and how to become involved, please attend an information meeting on September 2. This cinematic 5-week study for men by Dr. Ted Roberts, a former Marine fighter pilot, will begin Sunday, September 13, at 6:00pm in Room 223. A companion workbook is $10. Hosea: Unfailing Love Changes Everything. This 7-week study for women by Jennifer Rothschild will begin Tuesday, September 15, at 6:45pm in Room 222. A companion workbook is $13. Free To Grow: Overcoming Setbacks & Disappointments. This 12-week journey by Dr. Jimmy Ray Lee will begin Sunday, September 13, in Room 122.
