Good morning from Central Assembly! Pastor Jeff is speaking in Japan this weekend and is looking forward to being back with us next Sunday. God arranged perfectly to have a dear friend of Central’s with us Sunday morning—missionary David Grant. David and Beth Grant’s ministry is not only on the cutting edge of human need today, but it’s also our 2016 Summer Missions Project. As we conclude our focus upon Myanmar, we can begin to set our eyes upon Project Rescue. Join us for morning worship. We look forward to seeing your smiling faces!
Pastor Yoriko will speak from Matthew 11:28-30. We welcome all international families and friends to our service! We also welcome any who believe God has called them to bless and serve people through our international ministries at Central. Join us at 10:30 for coffee, tea, and fellowship before the service begins at 11:00. Also, join us for international prayer meeting Wednesdays at 6:30pm in Room 125. Everyone is welcome!
We will not have Sunday evening services or activities during the month of August. This is to give the faithful volunteers in our various church ministries a time of rest before the busy fall season is upon us. Also, we will not have evening services or activities on Sunday, September 6, in observance of Labor Day.
This week Pastor Don will continue our Holy Spirit series with “The Fruit of the Spirit: Faithfulness.” Throughout this series we are learning about different facets of the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives. Join us every Wednesday for fellowship, Bible teaching, and discussion.
Open enrollment for Sanctuary Choir will begin Wednesday, August 19. If you enjoy singing, please join us! We rehearse on Wednesday evenings and minister on Sunday mornings. If you have questions, please contact Elizabeth.
The annual Dads & Lads campout is coming up at the end of the month. There will be fun for all ages. Junior High and older boys will enjoy high ropes, climbing towers, and zip lines. For more information, visit the table in the foyer or the Ranger classrooms on Wednesday night.

Here’s a little preview of three exciting Bible studies coming up next month: Conqueror Series: The Battle Plan for Purity. This cinematic 5-week study for men by Dr. Ted Roberts, a former Marine fighter pilot, will begin Sunday, September 13, at 6:00pm in Room 223. The discipleship curriculum provides insights from top Christian leaders who lay out biblical strategies and scientific facts to teach men how to use God’s weapons to become conquerors. A companion workbook is $10. Hosea: Unfailing Love Changes Everything. This 7-week study for women by Jennifer Rothschild will begin Tuesday, September 15, at 6:45pm in Room 222. The Book of Hosea is a love story. It’s the story of Hosea’s love for his wayward wife Gomer. It’s the story of God’s love for His wayward Israel. Most of all, it’s the story of God’s unfailing love for you and me. Even when we wander, God goes to extraordinary lengths to bring us back to Him. A companion workbook is $13. Free To Grow: Overcoming Setbacks & Disappointments. This 12-week journey by Dr. Jimmy Ray Lee will begin Sunday, September 13, in Room 122. Leaving hindrances and rejection behind, we can discover complete freedom to grow in Christ and become the people who God designed us to be. A companion workbook is $11. Mark your calendars; signup information for each of these studies will be available soon!
