Join us this Sunday morning as we Celebrate America! Our Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra will present a patriotic music extravaganza as we honor those who have fought and are fighting today to protect our freedoms. Our national motto is “In God We Trust.” Those words ring ever true. We pray God will continue to shed His grace upon our nation and heal our land as He promises in 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
Our guest speaker will be Brian McCroskey, former Army Ranger. The successful movie “Black Hawk Down” is based on an Army Ranger Company’s mission to recover fallen comrades on the streets of Mogadishu, Somalia. Brian was part of a small group of Rangers that fought at the crash site of the first Black Hawk helicopter that was shot down. He was shot in the arm, but in the midst of enemy fire, God was there. Soul restored, Brian dedicated his life to the Lord while in Somalia. His journey is an incredible story. Invite a friend to join us as Brian challenges us to live by the creed God gave us, His Holy Word. We encourage all veterans to wear their uniforms and service commendations. Thank you for your service!
After celebrating our great nation with us in the morning, come back at 6pm for our evening service. Pastor Mike will continue our Sunday night series, God’s Ten Words for Today.
Through June 28, you have an opportunity to “Support Our Troops, Write a Thank You Note.” Visit the Connect Counter for a note card. Our military support groups will help us honor and give thanks to those who are fighting today to defend our freedoms.
This Sunday morning our international service will not meet. We will join the 10am Celebrate America service in the sanctuary. In addition, the international service will not meet during the month of July. Please plan to join the main services in the sanctuary.
Also, we are looking for host families for the new semester. A host family spends time with 2-3 international students at least once a month to share American culture and God’s love. If you are interested in this ministry to students far from home, please contact us.
This week Pastor Jeff will continue our Holy Spirit series with “Gifts of Prophecy,” covering speaking in tongues and interpretation of tongues. Throughout this series we are learning about different facets of the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives. Join us every Wednesday for fellowship, Bible teaching, and discussion.
