Neighbors Day is the second Saturday of each month and is one of the most effective ways we make a real difference in our community. This is our Food Pantry’s 11th year of sharing fresh reminders of Jesus’ love with families in need. With your help and tireless support, we impact the lives of over 100 families a month.
Our Beyond the Walls Oil Change Ministry is a team evangelism effort offering compassion to underserved single moms, widows, and wives of deployed military men. We offer vehicle assistance with an oil change and inspection services as a tangible expression of our love for Jesus and single-mom families. Thank you to all our volunteers who have faithfully helped us serve our community.
We need new volunteers for both of these ministries. If you can donate only 2 hours of your time one Saturday morning a month, you can make an impact! Start time for Oil Change Ministry is 9:00. Food Pantry is at 9:30. Please contact us if you would like more information or can volunteer in either of these ministries.
On Sunday night, May 3, we will begin a new series, God’s Ten Words for Today. In Exodus 20, through the heart of the covenant relationship—the Ten Commandments—the Lord reveals His character and values and how they are to be lived out in people’s relationship with Him and with one another. The Ten Commandments are the basic expectations of the covenant. We must make every effort to have healthy relationships based on an appropriate balance of privileges, responsibilities, and accountability, effectively communicated. Pastor Mike McCrary will kick off the series with “Accept No Substitutes.” The series will run from May 3 through July 26.
Wednesday Night Bible Study will begin a new series this week on the Holy Spirit with Pastor Jeff speaking on the baptism in the Holy Spirit. In coming weeks, we’ll cover the gifts and fruit of the Spirit, the historical context and purpose of Pentecost today, etc. Join us Wednesdays in the Multipurpose Hall for great nights of fellowship, Bible teaching, and discussion week-after-week.
Central Assembly and SingleMomzRock have teamed up to create “Empowered for Life,” a 16-week, curriculum-based program designed to help single moms develop and implement a personalized action plan to lift them out of poverty. Twelve local women were chosen to participate in a series of educational classes and are paired with mentors. We need women to serve as mentors to these mothers and walk alongside them through their journey. If you enjoy speaking into the lives of others and this is of interest to you, please e-mail us or call the church office at 417.866.5013.
