Remember that services and activities will not meet Sunday night, July 2 or Wednesday night, July 5. We’ll resume our regular weekly schedule on Sunday, July 9. If you’re looking for a church home, we’re saving you a seat at Central!
The Sunday morning service on this 4th of July weekend was powerful with music and a tribute to our veterans that reminds us how blessed and thankful we are to be Americans. Interim Pastor Jim Bradford shared a timely message from Romans 13, “Following Jesus in a Politically-Charged World.” Our country has never been as politically and socially divided as it is today. How do we follow Jesus in the midst of all the tumult and chaos of this world? Listen to the sermon online right now.
The church office will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. If you have business with us, please visit or call during regular office hours, 8:00-5:00 Monday-Thursday and 8:00-3:00 Friday. Have a safe, happy 4th of July!
The 4th Annual Legacy Indoor Camp Meeting is this Thursday and Friday in the Multipurpose Hall. It will be an exciting time of teaching/preaching, singing and worship, food and fellowship. If you’ve registered, breakfast will be at 8:30. Bring your registration voucher to check-in at 2:00 to pick up your Camp Meeting materials.
On Saturday, July 8, our Food Pantry, Oil Change Ministry, and Neighbors Kids will not be available. The next Neighbors Day will be Saturday, August 12. The Oil Change Ministry— for single moms, widows, and wives of deployed military personnel— begins at 9:00. The Food Pantry begins at 9:30. If you’d like to be involved with any of these ministries, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
On Sunday morning, July 9, we’ll have the opportunity to invest in our kids and students through our annual camp scholarship offering. It’s more important than ever to help our kids and students experience a camp setting where pivotal encounters with God have had lasting impact on countless lives.
Jim and Barb Risner will continue “Uniquely You” for volunteers who are planning to be involved in Central’s International Ministry this fall. For more information about our international ministries, please contact email@example.com.
If you’re interested in the international host family program during the 2017-18 school year, please stop by our foyer table to fill out an application form. Current host families and students will be there to tell you about the program and answer any questions. We’ll have a meeting on Sunday, July 30 in Room 123 for all those who have signed up.
This Wednesday night, July 5, services and activities will not meet. On Wednesday, July 12, Dr. Mike Ferguson will conclude our suicide intervention and prevention training, “Know the Signs.” Come and learn the warning signs, rick factors, truths and myths, and more. What we learn through this training may help save a life.
If you’ve been blessed with a new bundle of joy, we’d like to bless you with a small gift from Central Assembly. So notify us if you or someone you know has a new baby.
