Our goal is to meet the needs of our community the way Jesus met the needs of His. Jesus walked shoulder to shoulder with people dealing with the struggles of life, and He simply showed His love for them—a love that was selfless and without agenda or ulterior motive. We are people who have experienced that life-changing love; therefore, we want to show it to others. Here are a few of the ways we’ve been trying to do that.
Once a month Central Assembly’s foyer is filled with canned goods and other non-perishable groceries, Food Pantry helpers, and our special guests from the community. Kids play and color at a station designed for them while their parents sit nearby and talk with people from the church. There are many opportunities to be a part of our Food Pantry ministry, from set-up before the event to carrying our guests’ free groceries to their cars.
Trained mechanics offer free monthly oil changes for single moms, widows, and wives of military personnel. Moms and kids enjoy refreshments and fellowship in our Fusion Center while their cars are being serviced.
Our Neighbors Ministries reach out to our community on the second Saturday of each month. With only a 2-hour investment of time, you can make a tremendous impact on our neighbors. You should plan to arrive at the church 15 minutes prior to start time. If you have never been a part of these ministries, please feel free to come and observe. For more information, please call the church office at 417.866.5013.
